Details for the Fourth-Generation BMW X5

In June, we were able to give a brief overview of the new 2019 BMW X5, but details were few at the time.

We're excited to be able to share more with you now about the all-new BMW X5, which is set to launch fully in November and go on sale soon after. Production and assembly is happening at the plant in Spartanburg, so our team is confident that we can get some of the very first models here at BMW of Southpoint.

More Power

BMW's two powertrain options for the X5 carry over for the 2019, but with some upgraded tuning.

Performance is increased by 35 horsepower from the previous model, up to 335 HP from a standard turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine under the hood of the BMW X5 xDrive40i.

For the 2019 model's higher-performance trim level, the BMW X5 xDrive50i, we see an increase of 11 horsepower, up to 456 HP from a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine.

More Poise

The new model is longer, wider, and taller than last year's BMW X5, delivering a more purposeful and bold exterior design and a slight increase in interior volume.

The iconic kidney grille is even bigger for the 2019 model-year, and is bookended by adaptive LED headlight. Select trims or packages offer Hexagonal BMW Laserlights.

Currently, the 2019 BMW X5 only offers two rows for five-passenger seating, but a three-row variant will be available soon--as will, likely, an available sDrive model--for seven-passenger seating, perfect for Durham families who need the added versatility.

Contact BMW of Southpoint to pre-order the new 2019 BMW X5 today, or check back in November when the first models begin to arrive.
