A New 2019 BMW 3 Series in the Making

If you haven't seen the BMW news lately, you might not know that the German brand is planning some pretty big things for the next generation of its ever-popular BMW 3 Series compact car lineup.

At the moment, it's looking like we'll be seeing a 2019 BMW 3 Series in Chapel Hill and the Durham area sometime in the next year, and we're very excited about what changes we might see in the new lineup.

The 2019 BMW 3 Series is one of as many as six new vehicles to be debuted within the next year.

What Can We Expect to See

The BMW 3 Series has always been known to have the largest variety of configurations and styles among all BMW Series vehicles--and while we're confident that we'll be seeing the classic, iconic sedan showing up, the other two body styles may be in question.

The BMW 3 Series wagon and Gran Turismo are fair sellers, but aren't as popular as the BMW 3 Series sedan.

What we do know is that the new 2019 BMW 3 Series will be built on BMW's new CLAR platform, which apparently stands for "cluster architecture" (as reported by Car and Driver) but is nicknamed "G20" internally at BMW.

The new platform should guarantee a lighter body weight, better handling, and increased efficiency, though we won't know for sure until it's released.

Engine specs and powertrain information are also being kept quiet.

2019 BMW 3 Series Release Date

We can't be sure exactly when the new 2019 BMW 3 Series will debut--or when it'll arrive in North Carolina. If you want to get into something new now, take a look at available BMW 3 Series for sale in Chapel Hill to take advantage of winter deals.

If the new-generation BMW 3 Series is on your wish-list, you may consider leasing so that you can upgrade easily in a year or two.
