2019 BMW X3 IN DURHAM

The 2019 BMW X3 Compact Luxury SAV Competes Confidently in Durham

The BMW X3 has always been an impressive competitor--but after a major redesign for the 2018 model-year, it's standing out and looking better than ever. It saw changes to the cabin, the exterior styling, select features and technology, and even a few of its interior materials. For 2019, trim levels include the all-new rear-wheel-drive BMW X3 sDrive30i, the all-wheel-drive xDrive30i, and the BMW X3 M40i.

The New Cabin is Clean and Classic

BMW has kept everything that worked well from the previous generation of BMW X3 small SUVs--which was a lot. So, when you first experience the new interior you may not notice a lot of changes. But, they're there: the new generation's larger size gives up more cargo room, offering a total 62.7 cubic feet with the rear seat folded, and a versatile 28.7 cubic feet of storage area behind the rear seat, for everyday travel, commuting, and errands. A larger, more prominent touchscreen that sits at a more convenient place on the dash--with tablet-like ease of use--rounds out a huge list of standard features, amenities, and luxury options.

Bigger, Sleeker, and Better

Interesting additions to the new generation include a BMW Active Kidney Grille and BMW Air Curtains, and an M Aerodynamic Kit on the range-topping M40i trim--these advanced and innovative features all contribute to the sporty performance and cutting dynamics of the new 2019 model. Standard exterior features on the new 2019 BMW X3 include LED headlights, LED foglights, a power tailgate, and standard roof rails--with available added options through special BMW packages like the Dynamic Handling package and the M Sport package. After the redesign, the new BMW X3 is slightly larger, wider, and more muscular than the previous generation.

Turbocharged Performance to All Four Wheels

For powerful capability, xDrive all-wheel drive comes standard on nearly every new 2019 BMW X3 model in the lineup--so you'll never have to fear tackling a less-than-cared-for road or a tempting side trail. However, the all-new 2019 X3 sDrive30i does offer standard rear-wheel drive for a more affordable, more efficient approach to sports-crossover performance. BMW's compact luxury SUV is good for an impressive 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine mated to an eight-speed Steptronic Sport Automatic Transmission; though you can upgrade to an optional 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine making 355 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, available on the top-tier model. When equipped with the available 3.0L engine, the 2019 BMW X3 M40i is capable of a 0-60 time of just 4.6 seconds

Standard Connectivity and Media Features

The 2019 BMW X3 is more than just an efficient and fun-to-drive daily commuter crossover--it comes loaded with a ton of standard features, including driver-seat memory settings, a 12-speaker audio system, and BMW's iDrive 6.0 infotainment interface with Bluetooth hands-free phone controls. Package options and tiers can add additional features like a larger screen for the media system, wireless phone charging, a 16-speaker premium sound system, and Apple CarPlay. In safety, the X3 can be equipped with an available Active Protection system and Driving and Parking Assistant systems.
