BMW xDrive is one of the most sophisticated technologies in the auto industry. This renowned full-time AWD system maximizes traction on Raleigh drives, especially on slick roads. It improves handling, providing a safer driving experience around Cary. 

BMW xDrive also enhances driving dynamics and stability around challenging curves. 

How Does BMW xDrive Work?

If you’re wondering how BMW xDrive works, you’re not alone. This BMW AWD system is always on but only goes into action when needed, helping you conserve fuel on your Chapel Hill commute. The system permanently monitors the speed of each wheel and determines where engine power is required, especially when a hazard is detected. It can send up to 100 percent of engine power to one axle for rapid traction enhancement. Plus, when driving through curves, BMW xDrive reduces the power to the inner curve wheels, supporting the sideways motion of the car so you can exit the turn more easily and quickly. 

xDrive Dynamic Stability Control

When encountering a slippery road surface, your instinct may be to counteract the slide, which can exacerbate the skid. xDrive’s Dynamic Stability Control intervenes immediately upon detecting traction loss by applying precise braking to each wheel within milliseconds. This proactive approach enhances stability for your BMW, instilling greater confidence in your driving experience.

xDrive Dynamic Traction Control

During the toughest winter conditions, you might find yourself stuck in snow. Dynamic Traction Control, an integral part of the Dynamic Stability Control system, automatically adjusts wheel spin and braking to maintain forward momentum while preserving power.
