BMW iX vs. Tesla Model X: Range & Charging

One of the most important factors in any EV purchase is range. When you purchase a new EV, you want to ensure that the model you choose has the all-electric range to handle your daily commutes through Cary and your weekend adventures. Whether you choose the BMW iX or Tesla Model X, you’ll find significant range on both the starting trims:

While at first glance it appears the Tesla Model X is the smarter choice, the next consideration for new EV drivers is where they’ll be able to charge up their new electric model. The BMW iX comes standard with a CCS connector, the most common EV charging connector in the country, making it easy to drive long distances and top up at nearly any DC Fast Charger in the United States. The Tesla Model X, on the other hand, is only compatible with the Tesla Supercharger connectors and requires additional equipment to charge at the majority of EV charging stations around Chapel Hill.
