The New BMW X3 sDrive30i is Affordable and Efficient
BMW knows what the people want–so when they were crafting the second model-year of the BMW X3’s new generation, the engineers knew that performance drivers down in the South wanted the sporty, refined experience of RWD in their next compact luxury crossover.
Enter the 2019 BMW X3 sDrive30i: the new generation’s rear-wheel-drive variant that caters to the Durham and Raleigh driver who wants to optimize for efficiency, and wants to get the absolute most for their money.
Drivetrain Options: New Rear-Wheel Drive
The new sDrive Rear-Wheel Drive system offered on the 2019 BMW X3 (the 2018 MY was offered only with xDrive All-Wheel Drive) provides a few different benefits:
- It brings the classic performance feel of rear-wheel power
- It improves fuel efficiency–so you’ll keep a little more money every month at the gas pump
- It lowers the starting price of the BMW X3, down to $41,000–about $1,650 less than a comparably equipped AWD base model
Engine Options: Same Classic Turbo
Fortunately, no matter which BMW X3 entry model you choose, you’ll get a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired to an 8-speed automatic and good for 248 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
Not sure of the difference between xDrive and sDrive? We invite you to visit BMW of Southpoint, and drive a rear-wheel- and all-wheel-drive-equipped BMW X3 so you can get a feel for each system.
